Maggie Batterman was born in Madison, WI. Her dance training began at Monona Academy of Dance under the direction of JoJean Retrum, and went on to attend the Joffrey Academy of Dance (Chicago). While at Joffrey, she performed excerpts from Sleeping Beauty, Don Quixote, La Bayadere, Raymonda, Viva Vivaldi, Swan Lake, and Etudes. Maggie then trained on scholarship at the Lou Conte Dance Studio, and later moved to San Francisco to attend the Alonzo King LINES Ballet Training Program, from which they graduated in 2021. Throughout her dance training, she has performed works by Alice Klock, Jiří Kylián, Crystal Pite, Sidra Bell, Erik Wagner, and Gregory Dawson. Maggie joined the Big Muddy Dance Company in 2021, and has performed works by Norbert De La Cruz III, Elizabeth Corbett, Thang Dao, Marcus Jarrell Willis, Joshua L. Peugh, and Director Kirven Douthit-Boyd. She is excited for her third year teaching and working with the competition teams at RJ’s!
