Miss Maggie B

Maggie Batterman was born in Madison, WI. Her dance training began at Monona Academy of Dance under the direction of JoJean Retrum, and she went on to attend the Joffrey Academy of Dance (Chicago). While at Joffrey, she performed excerpts from Sleeping Beauty, Don Quixote, La Bayadere, Raymonda, Viva Vivaldi, Swan Lake, and Etudes. She then trained on scholarship at the Lou Conte Dance Studio, and later moved to San Francisco to attend the Alonzo King LINES Ballet Training Program, from which she graduated in 2021. She has performed works by Alice Klock, Jiří Kylián, Crystal Pite, Erik Wagner, Sidra Bell, and Gregory Dawson, and has had the privilege of training additionally at Arts Umbrella in Vancouver and Sidra Bell Dance New York’s Summer Module. Maggie will be joining The Big Muddy Dance Company as an apprentice for the 2021-22 season, and is excited to get to know the St. Louis dance community!
