Miss Leah Kornucik began her dance career at 17 when she began at Sam Houston State. Her class schedule got dropped two days before classes began and she had no choice but to enroll in some dance classes. She was thrown into a world she knew nothing about (having been a life long cheerleader) but she persevered and flourished and ended up graduating Cum Laude with a BFA from Sam Houston State University in 2002. She has been able to study under and work with notable instructors/choreographers being a member of the Spectrum Dance Company.  Leah was also a member of The Raven Dance Project, The Texas World Dance Company;  had the opportunity to choreograph many shows for Six Flags Astroworld, and Northwest All-Star Gymnastics. Upon graduation, Leah moved to Denver where she danced with Kim Robards Dance Company under the artistic direction of Kim Robards. She has set choreography on COCA’s second company, The Slaughter Project, and was an artist in residence with The Montana Ballet Company in the summer of 2006. She was a member of Utopia Entertainment for two years, a resident choreographer, assistant artistic director, and dancer with the Slaughter Project for five; and spent two seasons dancing with Nu-World Contemporary Danse Theatre. Leah’s teaching focuses on technical precision and performance quality. She has been an integral part in developing the RJ's Chesterfield Competition Team and is currently the director of the RJ's Performance Team. When she is not working away at the studio, she enjoys spending time at home with her husband, son and daughter.
