In 1991, Miss Renee opened Renee Johnson’s Dance & Tumbling Studio in a one-room building on Manchester Road. As the studio’s popularity and reputation grew in the community, so did the studio spaces, faculty members, and classes offered. A few moves, many studios, and thousands of students later, in 2001, our studio found it’s current home in the heart of Ellisville at Manchester and Old State Roads. In 2007, Miss Renee had a great opportunity to purchase Dance Floor in Chesterfield Valley when the owner moved out of state. Since the purchase, we’ve considered ourselves “sister studios.” In the thirteen years since, both shared the same philosophy of dance, curriculum, and the same high quality, professional instructors.
In Spring 2020 we will merge both studios under one name: RJ’s Dance Studios. Over the years we have created, what we believe, is an incredible, united dance family and we want our name to reflect that. Our staff and I are ecstatic for the change and we believe it will allow us to streamline our communication, build an even stronger dance community and give more opportunities for our dancers to thrive. We will keep both locations, our same dance philosophy, and professional instructors, but our operating name, logos, websites, and social media pages will be changing to reflect our new unified brand: RJ’s Dance Studios.
RJ's Dance Studios offer a continuing dance education program for the beginning, preschool dancer through the advanced, pre-professional level. RJ's offers many team opportunities beyond the regular educational program. We believe in creating well-rounded dancers in all styles of dance built on strong ballet fundamentals. At RJ's, we strive to make dance fun, however, our dancers are truly getting an education in proper dance technique from their very first class.
Our classes are not designed strictly on age, but also ability. We believe dance education in a group setting allows students the opportunity to work as a team, present themselves as performers, and grow into confident young adults. In addition to being enjoyable and fun, dance also helps develop physical fitness, discipline, coordination, etiquette, poise, grace, and an appreciation for the arts. We are committed to providing the best dance experience possible for you and your child and are ready to push them to reach their fullest potential!
We hope our studio becomes your home away from home and we believe time studying dance is never wasted!
