Dress code

Dress code is an important part of the discipline instilled in a young dancer, therefore the proper attire and dance shoes are required in all classes. Hair must be pulled up out of the face and held securely for all classes. Please make sure your student does not wear anything that may cause a distraction to themselves or the class. Old recital costumes are not considered appropriate for dance class. Cover-ups need to be worn at all times outside the studio. Dancers not adhering to the dress code will not be allowed to participate in class. If dancers have proper shoes, but in a different color other than what is specified below, they may wear them until the holiday break and then will be required to purchase the specified colors.

PLEASE NOTE:

It is important that dancers have proper pink ballet shoes from name brands (Bloch or SoDanca). There are many off-brand, lower-quality shoes being sold in stores like Walmart and Target and many online retailers like Amazon that are NOT quality brands (Capezio Daisy, Capezio Love, Stelle, ABT for Spotlight, etc…). These shoes do not provide the same support and do not allow dancers to point and flex their feet. These factors lead to developing poor habits and technique, which is the opposite of our goal!
