Mr. Tommy

Tommy Wasiuta

Tommy Wasiuta is a tap dancer based in St. Louis, Missouri. As a graduate from Performing Arts Centre, he studied with his mentor, Anthony Russo. Tommy is an alumnus of the 2017 Tap Program at The School at Jacob’s Pillow. He has performed with a variety of artists and companies such as The JaM Project, international countertenor, Terry Barber, Postmodern Jukebox Star, Ariana Savalas, and as the featured tap dancer for the St. Louis Big Band. Tommy is a co-founder of St. Louis’ only professional tap company, moSTLy Tap, most recently performing at DanceSTL’s 12th Annual Spring to Dance Festival and the Old Webster Jazz and Blues Festival. 

 

Tommy has a passion for sharing his knowledge of tap dance to students of all ages. He is currently on faculty at some of the most recognized dance studios in St. Louis including the Center of Creative Arts (COCA) and Renee Johnson’s Dance Studio. Tommy has been on faculty with the Show Me Tap Festival, RIFF Dallas Tap Festival, Wing-It Tap Intensive, Beyond the Stars Dance Convention, and is the current Artist in Residence for the Next Step Tap Project in Dallas, TX.

 

While pursuing his professional dance career, Tommy is earning his BS in Accounting from the University of Missouri - St. Louis. He is also the founder of Buskers for Charity, a group of performing artists from around St. Louis that busk for voluntary donations. The money earned is donated to charities in St. Louis and beyond.
